About

Elizabeth Evans, LISW-CP
Owner/Clinical Therapist
Therapeutic Counseling South Carolina, Inc.
Daniel Island, SC

I enthusiastically provide behavioral therapy services, specializing with children age 3-13. I am a social worker by training, and I offer; cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, play based therapy, trauma based therapy and social stories, and behavior modification. Areas of clinical interest to me include ADHD, pediatric bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety disorders and trauma to name a few.
My background includes 18 years of experience of therapy with children and families. I have worked in elementary schools, hospital environments, non-profit agencies, outpatient therapy clinics, community college, family court, forensic interviewing, group homes and residential facilities.

At an initial therapy visit I provide formal and informal assessment for mental health issues, and I weigh the impact of the environment with one’s genetic history to determine the influences of presenting behaviors. I am always willing to collaborate with involved agencies (schools, blended family members, etc) at the request of the patient or family, if it directly pertains to treatment. I provide measurable outcomes to therapy that are planned with a patient at first visit.

Best practice therapy is client focused, but it helps some clients to know the basics of the professional providing treatment. I was raised in a diverse military city, received my training in Virginia, and have lived here in Charleston since 2002. I have a busy family life that involves two young children, two German Shepherds and a dachshund. Travel and reading are what I enjoy when time allows. I am convinced that my career is a key component of my life’s purpose and am proud of the work I have done with my clients to date.
